Mango, participant in the Eukanuba 28 day challenge

Mango, a 16 month female pit bull, started the Eukanuba 28 Day Challenge approximately 2 weeks ago. So far, she has done very well on the diet.

Mango’s Eukanuba Diet

The food that Mango is eating is Eukanuba’s Adult Maintenance diet. She is now eating this food exclusively, with the exception of a few special treats that are added to her diet.

She seems to like the food and eats her meals readily. Her four-legged brothers, Gizmo and Skochi, seem to like the diet also and continue to try to steal Mango’s food when she’s not looking.

Progress with Eukanuba Adult Maintenance Diet

Mango’s skin and hair coat seem improved since she started on the Eukanuba diet. She has had periodic bouts with demodectic mange which causes a rash on her face. According to Tia, the rash has disappeared since Mango started the Eukanuba diet. Though no diet is really a treatment for demodectic mange, my theory is that perhaps the food has allowed Mango’s immune system to become stronger, which has lead to a greater resistance to the mite that is responsible for demodectic mange. Of course, it is also possible, given the nature of demodectic mange, that the improvement is merely incidental and has nothing to do with the food. Whatever the case, Sam and Tia are pleased with the results.

Her feces, though always firm, seem to have less volume, according to Sam. Sam seems pleased with this since it is less for him to clean up when he walks Mango.

Mango continues to be active and alert, though this is not a change from previously. She has always been a healthy, active dog.

Overall, I believe Mango is responding very well to her Eukanuba diet. Sam and Tia plan to continue feeding her the Eukanuba Adult Maintenance Diet at least through the end of the 28 day trial, perhaps longer.
