The Pet Health Care Gazette is pleased to announce that we are part of the Never Shock a Puppy coalition and will be participating fully in the Never Shock a Puppy campaign as it rolls out, beginning on September 1, 2010.
The Never Shock a Puppy Campaign
For our readers, the Never Shock a Puppy campaign means that we will be bringing you information about humane dog training options.
- These options do not include the need to pinch, shock or choke your dog.
- There is no need to hurt, scare or startle your canine buddy to teach him manners.
- You also won’t need to drag your pup around, struggle with him or boss him around.
- You’ll bond with your dog in a way that you never thought possible, all while teaching him to behave in a mannerly and consistent fashion.
And remember when we say “puppy” during this campaign, we’re really referring to any dog, any age, any size, any sex, any breed.
When and Where Will the Never Shock a Puppy Campaign Take Place?
Each Wednesday between September 1, 2010 and October 20, members of the Never Shock a Puppy coalition will bring you fresh information. Topics will include the top 5 reasons people believe they need to use shock collars, choke collars and other punitive devices. Plus, you’ll learn other dog training techniques that can effectively replace these devices. So, stay tuned here. We’ll be your guide to uncovering this wonderful information each week.
Raising Money to Prevent Dogs from Being Shocked or Pinched
The coalition will also be raising money (and accepting donations) to benefit the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s No-Choke Challenge. Our goal is to raise $2500, which will purchase approximately 165 replacement dog harnesses or dog collars that will be supplied to dog owners that choose not to use choke or shock devices any longer.
Prize Give-A-Ways
Along the way, we’ll also be giving away lots of great prizes. Participate to win a Halti head collar or harness, a professional dog training referral, collar charms, books, gift certificates and possibly even more.
Who is the Never Shock a Puppy Coalition?
We’re a group of like-minded dog lovers that want to improve the lives of dogs everywhere. And we believe we can do this by raising awareness among dog owners about humane and painless alternatives to dog collars designed to hurt, startle or punish your dogs.
The coalition is lead by Roxanne Hawn of Champion of My Heart. Joining Roxanne and Champion of My Heart is Best Friends General Store, Boulder Dog, Calling All Dogs, Fang Shui Canines, FearfulDogs.com, Moxie Paws, Positively Well-Behaved Dog, The Allie Chronicles and of course, the
Pet Health Care Gazette.
Our sponsors and prize donors deserve a great big thank you also. So, thanks very much to Am I Boring My Dog? (Author Edie Jarolim), Best Friends General Store, FearfulDogs.Com, Housetraining for Dummies (Author Susan McCullough), K9Cuisine.com and The Company of Animals. Thanks also to our trainers, those that are members of the No Shock Collar Coalition and also the trainers of Truly Dog Friendly.
So, mark your calenders and come along with us on this journey. You won’t regret it. I suggest you subscribe to the Pet Health Care Gazette’s Rss feed or sign up to receive the Pet Health Care Gazette by email. That way you won’t miss anything and you’ll stay informed and up-to-date.
