It may be difficult to locate the cause but some detective work may help. Did you start traveling in the RV about the same time that the aggression started occurring? If so, it may be that the traveling is less enjoyable for them than you believe.

It may also be redirected aggression. Sometimes one cat will become aggressive toward another even though it is not really that cat he is upset with. It may something stressful in the environment or something he is seeing or scenting from outside that he is reacting to.

We have an unexplainable situation with our two cats .... for the first two years they were very close, then one day- one cat turned on the other consistingly grawling and snarling for no apparent reason that we can distingush. We travel alot with our RV and they love it as much as being at home. Both were neutured young and are indoor cats. But this third year has been pretty much a nightmare for one and us. How do I find a cause? My Vet is clueless.

Hi Steve. I'm sorry to hear about your cat's problems. These types of situations can be difficult to figure out. There were a few thoughts that came to mind when I read your comment. I would have your veterinarian check his eyesight. If he's not seeing well, it could cause this type of behavior. Thyroid disease (specifically hyperthyroidism) and hypertension (high blood pressure) are also potential causes. Some older cats also develop cognitive difficulties that could manifest this way too. Good luck finding and resolving your little guys issues.

I have a 16 year old indoor only cat who for the past 3 months or so has started meowing between 3am and 4 am every morning without fail. The vet says that he is in great shape for his age and I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what is going on. Has anyone else experienced such a problem and if so did you find a solution?

Hi, Joe. And thank you so much for your kind words. It's nice to hear that my time and effort here is appreciated, especially since this is a "labor of love" for me for many different reasons. Good luck with your new blog!
