I can understand your embarassment, Kristin. I have one cat who does this often too. Sometimes, a change in food can make a difference but not always (in my experience.) It's worth a try but talk to your veterinarian about which food is best, particularly if your kitty has other health issues. Good luck!

Hello, Just a quick one, my female cat (7 months old) had terrible smell vets said it was her anal glands and he emptied them and said if the smell comes back then change her food. The smell came back alomost as soon as we got her home and has been coming and going for the past 3 days. I have noticed her smell comes when she is on my lap kneading and purring obvously excited! Is there any way I can stop her secreating this awful smell!?? I know it sounds natural, but if i feed her more fiber will this keep her sacs empty and she won't secreate when she is ecxited? or is the smell some thing i have to live with!?? Very embarassing as she is such a loving cat and will sit on any visitors lap!!!! thanks

You're welcome, Annunaki. I hope your pet never has problems with the anal glands but at least if happens, you'll know what's going on :-)
